Siluett

The horn sounded too loudly, just above her head. It was a relic of the old Empire, that lingered upon the ship, itself a relic. Those days were gone now. She zipped up her jacket and shivered.

She paced the deck amongst the other people. The sun was low on the horizon. Orange. The old days were gone now. The crowds were waiting for the ship to embark. It would be soon. A new life awaited her.

She stood at the rail and squinted and into the reddening glow of the horizon. She prepared to jump. The future beckoned.
