Deathline - Spring / Summer 2011
A bumper update this time. Let's get to work.
1. Upcoming gigs - Easter
We have a couple of exciting gigs coming up over the Easter weekend.
First of all on Friday 22nd we celebrate a very Bad Friday indeed, courtesy of the excellent Psycho Candy night at the recently reopened Nambucca on Holloway Road. We support the monstrous Suicide Party who are quite simply the most ferocious noise around right now. It will be massive.
Then on Easter Sunday night we play an Internet gig in the virtual world, Second Life for Pop Art Lab live. It will be streamed live on Treet TV followed by a live interview. More details on how to tune in live or watch later will follow.

"Psycho Candy is a new London club night brought to you by Julia Justice (The Firm/Daydream Nation/Vapour Trail) and Simon Mitchell (Kiss The Music Promotions) at the newly re-opened Nambucca in north London! Nambucca played a big part in the London music scene until it got destroyed by a fire - now, two years down the line it’s BACK!
"Ever thought that at alternative nights you either hear ‘retro’ bands only or just what’s hot in the press? Either is boring, if you ask me... The reason why we’re doing Psycho Candy is to bring you three great live bands per month, the best of signed and unsigned (we don’t just book any band like a lot of promoters do, we book bands that we think have potential and that fit in with the night) and after the bands have played, you’ll hear the best in old and new alternative music until at least 3am!!"From the promoter
2. Album II news and demos
Album number two, which is as yet untitled is starting to shape up now.
We hope to have some really cool news about our plans for recording the final tracks soon, but for now, you can listen to the demos in progress on this Soundcloud set. There will be four or five more songs going up in the next few weeks as we complete them. And we hope to introduce at least two, maybe three new ones live at the Nambucca gig above.
3. Japan appeal - thank you
We've now paid the balance of our Japan Tohoku Disaster appeal funds to the Red Cross. You helped us raise almost £300. Thank you so much!
The relief work in Japan is far from over though, so if you feel inclined to help out, we urge you to donate to the Japanese Red Cross via the British Red Cross (where you can tax aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer), or here via the Google Crisis Response page.
4. New photos
We did some new photos a couple of weeks ago. You can check out the whole lot in this album. Here's a few highlights.
5. Remix SixtyNine
Remixers! We're in the process of putting up stems of all the songs from our debut SixtyNine album for you to download free from Soundcloud and play with. We've already had some amazing responses which we'll post shortly. Please have a go!
