Deathline in Islington tonight

Deathline TOMORROW!! - Hope & Anchor 28 May 2009
↑ Deathline TONIGHT!! - Hope & Anchor 28 May 2009

Herewith is our next gig. It's TONIGHT (Thursday 28th May). We're on first giving ample scope for post stage drunkenness. It's one of those where we get paid the more people we bring so we would be beholden to see you all!

The flyer above, with artwork by the awesome Miss Mirma, is not only beautiful in its own right but affords you a stupendously generous one British pound off the door price when presented on entry either as a printout OR DISPLAYED PROUDLY ON A MOBILE DEVICE. We are good to you. Be good to us. Please! We will almost certainly be premiering some mew material as well. Ah g'wan.

THURSDAY 28th MAY
GIG OF DA WEEK

REFLECTIONS OF ELEPHANTS - Onstage 10.45pm
Exp/Alternative/Rock. Quartet, mixture of guitar, bass and drums. Largely instrumental with sweet , sweet voices. Inspired by At The Drive-In, Fugazi, Karate and Sonic Youth. But we also detect Mogwai and Biffy Clyro. Yeah, Good!

KILLJOYS - Onstage 10pm
The Smiths gone acoustic in the back with a low-pitched Julian Casablancas alike vocal. and The Libertines would be your touchstone for the arrangements Johnny Cash and some summery pop like The Cure's 45rpm pop episodes in there too.

THE JACS - Onstage 9.15pm
Cool catchy retro-indie from The Pool track. Roy Orbison stylee evocative stuff with a stirring widescreen feel and a vague whiff of psychedelia. They also explore a more trad indie vibe a la Artic Monkeys, and indulge in a lickle Beatlesy vocal interplay. Groovily eclectic and well-rounded sound, bountiful.

DEATHLINE - Onstage 8.30pm
Female fronted two piece The Yeah Yeah Yeahs but darker Blondie's in here too simple riffing tunes but with a lot of attitude and plenty of that factor they call X
